King of the Sandlots

Title

King of the Sandlots

Description

Verse
Baseball time each year is just the same,
Ev’ry one who loves our national game
Gets a thrill, it gets them one and all,
When the umpire cries Play ball.
And no matter who should win the game,
We love it the same.
All our worries scatter,
They don’t seem to matter
At that good old baseball game.
And there is a one who’s given all
His time and thoughts are for us sand our baseball.
Ev’ry year he starts us on our way,
And follows ev’ry team throughout the season’s play.
He is always there with helping hand,
To anyone who doesn’t seem to understand.
To each one a square deal,
So that is why we all feel,
A great respect for Tim O’Neil
Refrain
Tim is a grand old name
That will live on with the game
“King of the Sand Lots” Tim,
There’s no crown too god for him
He’s made our hearts so glad
A real friend to ev’ry lad.
Let your praises loudly ring,
For the Sand Lot King
